Juan again!

Posted by PicasaA full body pic of this beautiful guy! Look at his tail base! Almost a big as his body!

Juan

This is Juanny. A 13 year old green iguana! We have had him since a little guy, about 6 inches long. Now he is 6 feet long! Gee, I will now have to bag my garden scraps to send over to him! Carrot tops are almost candy to him as are squash peelings and romaine! He belongs to Matt, our son. He recently moved to Matt and Susans new home. I miss the big guy! I do not miss cleaning his habitat though!

Three Sista's

Blue Lake pole beans growing up in the corn! Some pumpkin within, its all good. We had some corn for supper, some raw beans, very tasty. Click on the pic for a larger view of some beans hanging off the tall plants!

A time to replant

Here we have an empty pea fence. Though the new plantings are up and on their way. There is some lettuce as well as some carrots and beets left along with some chard. I pulled the bush beans plants today, it has been so wet that mildew was forming and I did not want to infect the rest of the garden. They were done producing for the most part and I still have the pole beans in the corn. Blue lake, Grandemaw L recommended them. I will bring her some
when we head to the mountain in the near
future. The potato bed is to the right with
the tomatoes in the background.

Baby Girl

This is our ferral kitty Baby Girl. She has a long story. A great ending though, she has us. We feed her, she uses the doggie door and comes in at will. She loves on Jackson, sometimes to much and then they get to boxing one another. She is probably 10 years old now. A bit tired looking. Last night she actually climbed up on to a pillow on my lap, because of Jackson, she wanted to sit with him. She was to wierded out being so close to a human, she got down after about 5 minutes.

Plunder at the Gate!

We have green beans, purple beans, beets, turnip greens, yellow and green tomatoes, green peppers, swiss chard, carrots, lettuce, corn mint leaves and a basket full of potatoes, as well as a small vase of flowers for the table.

This trug is full of good things as Martha would say, I happen to agree. It is topped with flowers for the table. Thank for the trug Dearie!

Blackberries!

This is just a sample of the amount of berries we have this year.
Neighbors have been by to pick, and even shared some with their gardener and family members!
This middle photo is the backside of the garden, it is flanked with blackberry bushes the entire length. The Red dawg is posing for the camera, even dropped the ball. The harvest this year have been very abundant! Below is just a sample of a cluster laying in my hand! Rest assured the 2 ripe ones stayed in my hand when I pulled it away! Yum! Don't forget to click on a pic for a larger veiw. I will have to make a cobbler, a crisp and some seedless jam!

Jackson

Well, the larger of the 3 rose bushes did not seem to make it, but I only trimmed back the branches, hopefully it will take root and come back next spring. Jackson seems to really like this space and is always on the stone wall. Could it be he is actually waiting for a bird to come use the bath? Unlikely little black cat! I transplanted some Bishops weed this past Sunday, it seems to be doing fine. As I continue to look at this terraced garden in the making, I am becoming more inclined to make 2 more sections in the middle. Next year though.

Nice....

Sunset from Cadilac Mt.
My gal, perched upon stone on the mountaintop, with Bar Harbor in the background. We shopped in Baa Haa Baa and had a wonderful meal also. The blueberry ice cream was interesting but tasty!

Sand Beach

Sand Beach in Acadia Ntl park.
Water temp was 54 degrees, air temp, 68 degrees. The sand was even cold, the water colder but most stuck their feet in anyway. People were very friendly and the children still braved the chill. One dad drug his son in, must have come along way to go to the beach!

Cadilac Mountain!

Yikes we were high! The ride up was hair raising for people who love heights like me! White knuckles, slow speed not to mention 2 hecklers in the vehicle with me!
Absolutely breathtaking! People were scrambling around like mountain goats! Me, I am a flatlander through and through!
Islands in the distance wayyyy down in the ocean! The sunset was to be spectacular!

Stillwater, ME

This was taken on our way to Acadia Ntl Park. Mel lives close by here so we stopped for a photo. Magnificent!
We learned that Maine is full of lakes and Islands, Mel actually lives on an Island.
Trip went very well, though some glitches in the weather, but its what you make of it right. We went to "Baa Haa Baa" and the park and had a grand ol'e time. Even saw the gortons fisherman! Next trip, more time! Drove over 1000 miles in 3 days!
