mom
After months of illness mom has passed. We gave her our all, we sat bedside we joked when she was able, we wept when she was not. She gave us a ride through life, through the ups and downs, the good the bad and even the ugly. Mom, what could one say, rock candy in a glass on the counter, raw cheesecake, licorice gravy, krischicki, bomb, black bread and keilbasa, tapioca with peaches, crackle. Learning to make jelly and jam and apple butter! Potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage, chicken and rice
Learning to knit and crochet' from her hands, brushing her hair.
Bologne on the walls, diaper pure in the bathroom, running through fresh paste waxed floors, hearing her weep because of that. Making tents with all the blankets in the backyard with mom, taking walks to the little store with mom, mud pies, my 'to go ti go' learning different kids songs, NO ONE ELSE KNEW! visiting the next door neighbors, her city home in Maspeth, her country home in Farmingville the stories of her old people, her parents, her ability to 'collect'! Teaching me to cook and encouraged me to do so,wait till your father gets home, nothing happened but we waited each time! LOL! Camping, fishing, apple picking, pumpkin carving, watching her learn to ride a bike, gee that was hard to watch! She decided it was not for her! Her brown thumb! Bringing home cats, telling dad we brought them home! Coffee on a Sunday morning, tea at night, her legal jobs she loved, she should have been a lawyer,
you could ask her anything while she slept, she would always say yes! mom was a card, there re many many more things to say, maybe later, right now though , I love you mom , will miss your voice on the phone, see you in awhile...

All I can say, is that I wish I knew your mom better. Sure sounds like she was a lot of fun when you were growing up. I so much enjoyed our chats on the occasions that she was there when I stopped by to visit you and especially at your Christmas parties. Oh, how I miss those times. My mom was very much like her in our younger days, but she's still baking cookies with her great-grand children when they visit, and points out certain flowers in the garden...whatever she is up to doing. I'm sorry your mom is no longer there to do these things, and teach your future grandchildren, but you will always have those wonderful memories of when you were growing up and as your children were growing up, and be able to tell them wonderful stories of their Grandmother. She will live forever in your hearts and always be watching over you. G-d Blessed your family to have her for all those years, and now she has gone home, to be free of the physical pain of her mortal body. G-ds Blessings and lots of love wished upon you and the rest of your family...
thank you Diane! Cherish your ma! So many things to say! Love her!
